Besides allergy medicine and doctors visits, are there any other ways to alleviate or lessen allergy symptoms? You might be surprised that there are ways to create a home environment that has fewer allergens in the air.

It’s strange to say now, but I remember when I didn’t have allergies. It wasn’t until later in my life that I would find out what a menace they can be. And honestly, I fully understand that I was very lucky not to have them my entire life as some have had to deal with for as long as they can remember in Wichita, Kansas. But regardless of when we developed or discovered we had allergies, we know they are a pain.
With that being said, besides allergy medicine and doctors visits, are there any other ways to alleviate or lessen allergy symptoms? You might be surprised that there are ways to create a home environment that has fewer allergens in the air.

MOST COMMON AIRBORNE ALLERGENS

Let’s start by looking at what we are facing. The following is a list of the most common allergens found floating around in your home or office:

  • Pollen

  • Dust

  • Mold

  • Animal Dander

WAYS TO ALLEVIATE ALLERGENS INSIDE THE HOME

There are several well known ways to alleviate allergies inside the home in Wichita, Kansas especially when dealing with pollen, dust, mold and animal dander.

  • Air Quality Inspection

  • Air Duct Cleaning

  • Mold Inspection

  • Carpet Cleaning

An air quality inspection, if performed correctly and safely, will be able to tell what is in the air in your home. It doesn’t immediately solve the potential issue of allergens in the air, but it will give you a starting point.

An air duct cleaning will not only clean the air circulating in your home in Wichita, Kansas, but also help to preserve your air ducts. The air ducts and vents are commonly thought of as the lungs of a home because with that system, air is supplied to the home. If the air ducts are not clean or allergens have accumulated there, getting those air ducts and vents cleaned would remove the built up dust or allergens.

A mold inspection is a more specific type of option, but a good one if you are worried that a water intrusion or excess moisture may have caused any mold growth in your Wichita, Kansas, home. Normally, mold will have a musty, stale smell, but there are some people who are extremely sensitive to mold and will have adverse reactions without any obvious smells or signs taking place in a home.

Carpet cleaning, if you have carpet, is always a good option when dealing with allergies. Carpet collects essentially everything it comes in contact with, whether it be dust or pet dander or other airborne allergens. So if you have carpet or rugs it is important to make sure they are cleaned on a regular basis in Wichita, Kansas.
